Please help me welcome Will Lyle to the spotlight of Navarre’s Lounge! Will Lyle is originally from Orange County, California and is currently based in Los Angeles. Lyle studied at the Berklee College of Music, and ever since has been on a nonstop tour of playing his bass around the world, and that is no exaggeration.
In 2020 he received a presidential scholarship to study with the most recorded jazz bassist of all time and former member of Miles Davis’s band, Ron Carter, at Manhattan School of Music. Will is currently freelancing in the LA area and doing graduate school online. In 2019, he toured with the Ron King Big Band to Jakarta, Indonesia for the Java Jazz Festival. The same year, he arranged for and directed a 20 piece big band with strings for Barry Minniefield’s A Salute to Sinatra concert at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater. Will Lyle’s accomplishments don’t end here. Learn the full story on his website (link below).
The level of talent on this guy is insurmountable. I’ve always loved hearing the bass, but loved the way it made me fall deeper in the music even more. Will Lyle knows how to stay in the pocket when necessary as well as expertly flare his skills throughout the songs. The sounds and preciseness of the bass allow you to just close your eyes and enjoy the grooves of the masters on the stage.
