A dark comedy about family and parenthood. Kaiya loves the ocean and dreams of being a marine biologist. The only things she loves more than her family are magic and the crustaceans that reside in the sea. Their adventure takes them through a wormhole to a place where magic and science meet. Will their idyllic life become as dark as that which awaits them on the other side?
Wow… Matthew Kenneth Bieschke came to me and presented not just a novel, but an experience. Soul Survivors is a read that knows how to submerge the reader in the moment. The character development of all characters allows the reader to put themselves in the character’s shoes, even in a science fiction novel.
There’s underwater journeys, magic, family heirlooms, royalty, deities, bloodshed, love, pain… The list goes on. We are greeted with a family that is mugged at gunpoint, but don’t even break a sweat to neutralize the situation. From then on, we learn more about this family and how they’re not so new to the introduction of a world with portals and alternate realities.
If I haven’t sold you on the book yet, then take my word for it and give it a try.
