Please help me welcome Denise Foster to the spotlight of Navarre’s Lounge! Denise Foster is a Christian/Gospel singer/lyricist from McAllen, TX. She creates music with the purpose of inspiring hope and spreading joy to all those who listen. Her music shines a light on the promises of today and the brighter hope waiting in tomorrow. Though new to recording, she is active in prison ministry and of course singing in church. Her major musical influences are Oleta Adams and Luther Vandross. More current influences are Tasha Cobb, Yolanda Adams, Big Daddy Weave, and others.

The track “Lord Help!” is an easy listening track that has a laid back feel, but contains the spiritual message that holds true to her core values of purpose and hope. The simple guitar pattern gives an island feel to the song, and the drums complement this. Getting more into the track, the drums pick up and support Foster’s vocals that pick up steam to drive her point home.

This next track “You Are Mine” features a classic 80’s soul feel that us grown folks grew up listening to; Anita Baker, Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, just to name a few. Even if you aren’t a religious person, this song is still so soothing to listening ears. Foster’s vocals pack a powerful punch on any track she’s on, and each syllable is jam packed with full raw emotion. This is a musician that is well on her way to somewhere great with her craft, and I hope many more people get to experience what her music has to offer!
